Fly From Delhi To Dehradun Jolly Grant Airport
Have you landed in Delhi? If so ...
If you are visiting India for the first time, then it is better for you to take a flight to Dehradun (a nearby city). From Dehradun, our ashram is a 30 to 35-min drive by car, so you save time, energy and confusion. The closest and most convenient airport is New Delhi – this is a modern airport and taxi’s can be booked as soon as you come out of immigration and collect your luggage. You can also stay in Delhi overnight to gather your bearings and get over jet lag and take the short flight to Dehradun airport the following morning, depending on your arrival. Internal flights in India are cheap and they can be easily arranged alongside your international flight – so you don’t even have to leave the airport if you get the timing right. If you arrive earlier in Delhi and you want to step out of jet lag – there are hotels within 20 mins of the airport to suit all budgets where you can freshen, rest and sleep. It is approximately 1 hour flight time, there is a morning, afternoon or late evening flights available. When you leave your international flight- Delhi Airport provides a complimentary shuttle service every 20 mins between domestic and international terminals. A tip – always check the internal baggage allowance and the timings so if you have any initial departure flight delays you don’t miss your internal flight.
Taxi From Delhi Airport
The journey from Delhi airport to Rishikesh by road is approximately 6 hours. After a long a journey it is good to know that transport is waiting. For $160 usd Akshi Yogashala offer their own transport service which covers pick up at the start of the course and drop of at the completion of the course. One way transport can also be arranged for $80 usd e.g. - Delhi to Rishikesh or Rishikesh to Delhi
From Dehradun Airport
Our Ashram car will be waiting for the students who have booked the taxi from Dehradun Airport via Akshi Yogashala the day prior to the course initiation ceremony – this service is free of charge. If you arrive 2 or more days from the start of the course starts then additional charges of $20 (US) will be applied. It is a beautiful scenic drive through Himalayan mountains and jungles that as soon as your feet touch the soil – you will be in a different kind of heaven
Taxi From Haridwar Railway Station
Our Free Taxi service is not available from Haridwar Railway station or any pick up place from within Rishikesh as the school is very close. If you are coming by train and you need a taxi you can easily find a tuk tuk (around 500 INR, 7 USD)and prepaid taxi (around 1200INR, $20 USD). It is very safe as it is an international tourist hub. If you need a taxi from us, there is an additional cost of 20 USD and you need to book in advance.
Bus Services From Delhi
Bus services are available from Delhi ISBT, there are also luxury buses available which can bring you directly to Rishikesh Bus station. It costs around 800 Rupees.
